Positive vibrations
Marco Mandrino

Part of the music typical of the Nineties was light and sunny, and it gave you a sense of expectation and hope for the future.
Jack Johnson, The Beautiful Girls, Donovan, Xavier Rudd, and in some way even Ben Harper or the Red Hot Chili Peppers of their first albums. You listened and felt the sea breeze, you saw bonfires on the beach and you were inside the orange bubble of the setting sun. It all lifted you up, it "passed on" a sense of freedom and closeness to others that, it seems to me, young people today have never known.
I stress that it doesn't matter whether or not you liked the music I've mentioned, but it existed: you could feel its vibration, you could see it in the light in the eyes of so many people lifted by that sense of freedom.
Perhaps today that vibration would be healing. Something that has nothing to do with the squat-party reggae, a bit "stoner", but with those notes that feel like pills of lightness and that sprinkle around vibrations which today seem lost.
