The scandalous resentment of other people's wealth

Marco Mandrino

Let me begin by saying that I personally feel no envy or resentment towards anyone.

Let me also say that when I hear of people who succeed in what they do and get what they desire, I am honestly and sincerely happy, both for them and for myself. I believe that a world with more fulfilled people is a better world for everyone.

And let me say that I find Jacobin-Enlightenment ideas, and their communist extremisation, horrifying. The idea of redistributing wealth has only created monsters and makes no sense at all.

With those premises out of the way, only those who truly transcend the dominant quantitative mentality, based on materialistic accumulation, can find a real balance and avoid being devoured by the need to be ever richer and to own ever more.

Everyone else remains a slave, and it matters little how much they have or don't have. Those who own become slaves to their possessions and to the ego's need to own still more; those who own nothing and live in a state of spiritual poverty will do nothing but nurse resentment and envy those they consider rich. Both are simply extreme manifestations of the same unconsciousness and the same mentality.
