It was born as a symbol of "rupture". A rupture with musical conventions: distortion, imperfection, technical incompetence which, instead of being a problem, became a symbol of spontaneity and anarchy. Above all a rupture with social conventions: politically incorrect, iconoclastic and outside the usual categories of right and left, provocative even just for the sake of provocation.

Today it is among the genres most assimilated into the dominant culture. Today's "punks" try to look like those of yesterday, that is, they flatten themselves into a stereotype, but they are losers, like a frightened kitten bristling its fur that only inspires tenderness.
