RATKO MLADIĆ – THE GENOCIDAL HERO
Marco Mandrino

The title “genocidal hero” refers to the fact that Mladic died in prison, convicted of genocide, yet received a state funeral back home with full honours.
The aim here is not to dwell on who this figure was, but rather to underline how Truth and in-depth study no longer interest anyone, so that the same person can be regarded as two opposites without any scandal.
All information has nothing to do with facts; it is an ideological narrative completely detached from what really happened. In this way, genocidal or hero become convenient categories, cut off from reality.
📚History, despite the advantage of "distance", is totally disconnected from research and subservient to ideological interests that constantly push for a childish division into good and evil. At best, "information" and "history" are excellent novels "based on" real events.
Courts, the judicial power, have nothing to do with justice. Laws are by now so convoluted that they lend themselves to being bent to serve the interests, often ideological ones too, of the judge, who is obviously not impartial. For example, Mladic was convicted, while massacres similar to those attributed to him but committed against Serbs were swept under the carpet and still remain "acts of liberation" today.
The result is that in a society of increasingly lazy people there no longer even seems to be any interest in what is True and Just; everything is simplified into mere fandom, repelled by any in-depth examination or doubt💭
I deliberately used Mladic because he has nothing to do with Italy, precisely so as not to set off the rival fan camps, but it really takes only a small effort to apply all of this to figures or "movements" closer to home.
