Solidarity for Alessandro Patelli

Marco Mandrino

Alessandro Patelli, who was only nineteen at the time of the events, has been denied house arrest and had his 21-year prison sentence upheld for killing a man who was threatening him, with alcohol and cocaine in his blood, while defending himself with a small beekeeper's knife. One wonders: if he had been the victim, instead of the drug dealer with a criminal record, how would things have gone?

This small contribution is an act of solidarity towards the young man's family, an appeal to anyone who can do something to do it, but also a cry of alarm so that the right to defend oneself may be recognised.
