Expectations
Marco Mandrino

Expecting something from others is one of the most widespread sicknesses of our time. Most people who claim to expect nothing from someone or from a given situation are lying, and they need to hear themselves say it even though they don't believe it.
The only people without expectations are those who know, beyond any doubt and from experience, that "respecting others", "behaving well", "loving", "doing your best in relation to ..." are all "selfish" attitudes that benefit the person who expresses them naturally and effortlessly. They should not be demanded from others but cultivated within yourself.
Feeling these attitudes and ways of relating to the outside world as your own makes you strong, invulnerable and content.
Everyone else complains, will carry on complaining, and waits for someone to save them. But that someone will never come.
